Just watched "The Fabulous Life Presents: My Big Fat Fabulous Wedding" on TV and the couple spent USD550,000 on their wedding! Holy shit…the wedding looked amazing and perhaps has everything a couple may dream of but with this crazy amount of money?! I would rather go on a luxurious and long honeymoon and buy a small condo apartment!
Let me tell you what the Big Fat Fabulous Wedding has…USD17,000 worth of flowers for the entire event from decorating the gazebo tent for solemnisation to table centrepieces…hand-rolled cigars…boxes of matches that say "Steve & Lisa – A Perfect Match"…candy bar flowing with delightful candies and chocolates…USD4,000 ice bar which is a setup made of ice where you pour martinis down the top and the drinks will flow down the setup, coming out perfectly chilled.
The bride wanted everything and the groom (who already has 3 daughters) was looking stressed beside her at all the meetings but agreed to everything she wanted! He was lamenting to his friends about the crazy stuff that the wedding planners can come up with but in the end, he cried at the wedding when she was walking down the aisle and after the dinner, he said every penny was worth it and more.
The recent talk about weddings got me thinking…I don’t need a five-digit proposal ring. I don’t need an extravagant wedding that I’ve dreamed of since I was a little girl. I just want to marry a man who would tear at our wedding because he loves me that much. Okay, maybe he doesn’t have to cry. I can make do with him choking at his vows.
